Project Overview:
Cama Construction was selected as the General Contractor for the full interior renovation of the new doctors office. The scope included structural supports for a new mezzanine level that required helical piles that was as deep as 45-feet into the earth. Radiation shielding for the new MRI machinery. Check-in and Check-out stations, executive offices, lunch room, bathroom facilities, Exam Rooms – all delivered on a fast-tracked schedule to accommodate the client’s lease move-in date.
Project Scope:
• Complete demolition of interior partitions, ceilings and finishes. Partial demolition of the existing structural slabs
• Framing and drywall for new offices, MRI facility, common areas and Exam rooms
• Installation of acoustical ceilings, glass entrances, and LED lighting systems
• New MEP systems to accommodate the upgraded requirements
• Millwork and finishes including custom reception desks, kitchenette cabinetry, LVT flooring and wallcovering
• Coordination of IT and security infrastructure

Challenges and Solutions:
Working in an occupied commercial building, noise mitigation and coordination with building management. Our team implemented a phased work schedule to accommodate the MRI equipment arrival that required a large wide open pathway to its final location. Unforeseen Structural improvements to the existing building were required to withstand the new weight loads. All challenges were met and handled while still maintaining the overall project schedule.
Results:
• The project was completed on time even with approximately 6-8 weeks’ worth of additional work. The client praised the dedication and communication throughout the process.
